Steve Oldham is a seasoned climate-technology executive with a track record of building and scaling first-of-kind carbon management companies. As CEO of Carbon Engineering, he helped establish direct air capture as a globally viable carbon-removal pathway and led more than $100 million in project and corporate financings, culminating in the company’s $1.6 billion acquisition by Occidental Petroleum in 2023. He currently serves as CEO of Captura Corp, where he has advanced novel ocean-based carbon removal technology from research through commercial demonstration, raising over $60 million to date. Previously, he was Vice President of Strategic Business Development at MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA), overseeing major aerospace, robotics, and satellite programs central to Canada’s space infrastructure. In addition to his executive roles, he is a trusted advisor, board member, and thought leader frequently engaged by governments, corporations, and multilateral agencies on carbon-removal scale-up, infrastructure deployment, and climate-policy design.
